What Is a Miracle

sakura“Miracles occur naturally as expressions of love. The real miracle is the love that inspires them. In this sense everything that comes from love is a miracle.”  ~ A Course in Miracles, Chapter 1

Miracles Are Shifts From Fear To Love

Although we humans feel a spectrum of different emotions, all of them are basically derivatives of just two main emotions: love and fear. Miracles occur each time someone shifts from a perspective of fear to the perspective of love because the change in perception also leads to a shift from death to life, from darkness to light.

Fear is slow death.  People who focus on fear never truly live!

Every negative emotion has its roots in fear: fear of harm, fear of pain, fear of loss, fear of rejection, fear of death, and even fear of fear itself.  There is an endless list of things that people can fear. When we live from a perspective of fear, we feel negative emotions, and we create a vicious cycle of fear attracting more things to fear. That is how the Universal Law of Attraction works.

Consequently, living from a perspective of fear brings us these results:

  • Our lives become endless cycles of stress creating more stress, pain creating more pain, and fear creating more fear.
  • Our emotions invariably return to shame, guilt, grief, despair, powerlessness, and their myriads of derivatives.
  • Our bodies stay stuck in fight-or-flight mode.

And, while we are in this state, we stop healing and we stop living. Instead, we start dying.

On a physical level, the negative emotions that arise from fear manifest themselves as cancers, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, auto-immune dysfunctions, depression, panic attacks, and a plethora of other chronic ailments. This is our Inner Soul warning us that something is very wrong, that something really needs to change!

On a spiritual level, fear stops us from living full out. We are afraid to pursue our passions, to live our dreams, to follow our joy. We settle for a small life so that we can safely arrive at a death full of regrets.  This is not the way we were meant to live.  This is not the adventure we came down to experience. So our Inner Soul screams for a shift!

Love is life. Love is the miracle that we all want!

The shift our Inner Soul screams for is the shift to love. Love is the absence of all resistance, the letting go of all judgment. It is unconditional. It is complete, utter acceptance of what is. It is the profound realization that we are all deeply connected, that we are all One with everything.

With such a perspective, there can be no fear.  As the Bible states at 1 John 4:18: “There is no fear in love… The one who fears has not been perfected in love.”

And, the Preface to A Course in Miracles adds: “The Self that God created needs nothing. It is forever complete, safe, loved and loving. It seeks to share rather than to get; to extend rather than project. It has no needs and wants to join with others out of their mutual awareness of abundance.”

As I documented in the stories found in the Repository of Miracles, love is the cure for fear. Just as light dispels darkness, love dispels all forms of fear and causes miracles to occur naturally.  The Inner World transforms the Outer World: stress is turned into peace, frustration is replaced by joyful purpose, and bodies are healed spontaneously.  Life no longer is a struggle to survive; instead, love miraculously transforms life into a joyful exploration of what is possible, a journey into joy, purpose, and fulfillment.

This is the way we were meant to live.  This is the adventure we came down to experience!

sakura3We Create Miracles That Change the World

A Course in Miracles gives us this call to action:

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all of the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

Each time we remove a barrier built against the divine love that resides within us, we create a miracle. The effect of that miracle in our dense 3D world is sometimes perceptible and sometimes not so perceptible. However, the miracle always changes the world because it always changes us.  A Course in Miracles explains it in this way:

“That the miracle may have effects on your brothers that you may not recognize is not your concern. The miracle will always bless you. Miracles you are not asked to perform have not lost their value. They are still expressions of your own state of grace…”

We humans tend to look for effects that seem extraordinary from our limited perspective, effects such as spontaneously healing serious illnesses or magically eliminating suffering. Not all the miracles we create will have such dramatic effects, yet every miracle will have an effect, and every miracle will change the world for the better. Often it is just a shift in our energetic vibration that lifts the vibration of everything else around us, which in turn lifts the vibration of those around them.  A virtuous cycle is thus created, lifting all beings toward love and away from fear.  And, this virtuous cycle can all start with just one person, just as it did with Jesus Christ, the Buddha, and Louise Hay. Likewise, it can start with just you or just me making the shift

You change the world when you shift to love. I change the world when I shift to love. The Inner World creates the Outer World. Each time we choose love over fear, we become miracle workers changing this world for the better. It is my sincere desire that you feel empowered to be such a miracle worker when you visit this site.

May your days be full of miracles!
